Almost a year to the day after SRT president Ralph Gilles first introduced – and kissed the fender of – the SRT Viper at the New York Auto Show, the coupe has begun shipping.
I'd wait 2-4 years for the next Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 which will probably be even better than the SRT Viper GTS and have world conquering performance just like the last one.
I happen to like the Viper, but I also like the Vette. You see, you don't have to bash one in order to justify liking the other.
The 2013 Viper is the re-incarnation and refinement of a '90s classic. This edition of the Viper is sort of a do-over for Chrysler on the 2nd gen Viper. This time they fixed just about everything that was wrong with that car.
The 2014 'Vette is a step forward in the evolution of a car that has much more history than the Viper. The C7 Corvette is much more advanced than the Viper, that there really is no nuts & bolts comparison. The only valid debate about these two cars is about lap times and terminal velocity.
